What is a Guided Chocolate Tasting?
Tasting chocolate is different than eating chocolate. Identify your tasting zones so that every nuance is enjoyed and savored while discovering an array of award winning artisan chocolates. All made “In Country” of single origin, in far a way places like Madagascar, Bali, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia, and of course, the Amazon. Organic and Fair Trade, these unique chocolates cannot be found on a grocery shelf. (See top tab “What is Fair Trade chocolate”)

Wine & Chocolate Pairing – The concept of chocolate enhancing the flavors and nuances of wine is proven each time a guest has that second sip of wine with the chocolate. I mean, both cocoa and coffee beans have a very bitter taste and their shapes are similar.

Dark chocolate has far more antioxidants than milk or white chocolate. It is good for the heart since it lowers the blood pressure and it lowers the cholesterol level. It has serotonin which acts as anti-depressant. It also stimulates endorphin production which gives the feeling of happiness.

Can you get anything else? Like can you get sick?

Not likely,

The ingredient you would need to worry about is the eggs in the dough. There is a bacteria called Salmonella that would make you erally sick, but these products are so pasteurized, you are more likely to win the lottery 3 weeks in a row then to get infected. I say if you are going to eat the dough, follow these steps.

1) Check the expiration date
2) Eat it cold and do not let it sit out to warm to room temp
3) Have enough to share, bacause you know you will tempt someone by doing that

Healing Quest: Antioxidants for Cellular Health

The trillions of cells in our bodies produce the energy that keeps us alive. As they process food and oxygen to create energy, they also release dangerous molecules called free radicals or oxidants. These oxidants can do a lot of damage. What happens inside our bodies is similar to what happens to an apple when it is cut open and exposed to oxygen: it turns brown because oxygen is corrosive. Our bodies have a defense mechanism in the form of antioxidant enzymes, which neutralize free radicals. This defense mechanism works well until our 20’s, but as we get older our cells produce more free radicals than our defenses can neutralize. Oxidative stress caused by free radicals has been linked to over 200 illnesses, so this is a major medical concern. Some experts predict that people will soon monitor their oxidative stress as routinely as they are now monitor cholesterol.

Scientists have been researching ways to boost our natural antioxidant enzymes. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables helps, but many experts say it’s not enough. This segment discusses a nutritional supplement called Protandim, which has been shown to be very effective in maintaining cellular health. Protandim contains 5 herbs that have been used in ayurvedic medicine for centuries. After 3 months of taking this supplement, a 78 year old man was tested and his cellular health was shown to be similar to that of a 20 year old.
